The Ghostbusters Adventure Live! at Lynton V. Harris Scream Park Sunway Lagoon

Bandar Sunway, 25 July 2016 – Ghosts and Ghouls took over Sunway Lagoon and only one ghost-busting foursome could put the sinister creatures to rest. Sunway Lagoon’s Lynton V. Harris Scream Park unveiled the first Ghostbusters attraction of its kind in the world, The Ghostbusters Adventure Live!

The Ghostbusters arrive to save the day!

Ghostbusters inclusion into the park marks the biggest annual investment to date since the launch of Scream Park some seven years ago. The attraction occupies the entire top level of Scream Park and takes visitors through a 20-minute harrowing journey through locations based on the relaunch of the movie.

Stay Puft - at the main entrance of Sunway Lagoon

“Sunway Lagoon is excited to have such an internationally acclaimed attraction such as Ghostbusters. At Sunway Lagoon we are constantly working to provide our guests with the latest and the best. The Ghostbusters Adventure-Live! provides park-goers and fans alike with a unique and interactive journey through the Ghostbusters world,” said Calvin Ho, Senior General Manager of Sunway Theme Parks.

Entrance to The Ghostbusters Adventure Live!

The good people of Sunway Lagoon graciously invited the media to an exclusive session where they made sure bloggers and members of the media were thoroughly spooked. So, I decided to ask my husband on a date which I suppose worked out to be a good idea as I was holding him tight crushing his hands all the way.
You will sure be safe with a Ghostbuster around

The interesting part of this attraction is the interaction between the spookee and the spooker and a cast of live actors. Be well prepared for unexpected surprises and thrills.

Make sure to get a shot with the Ecto-1

After getting our tickets to Sunway Lagoon we were guided straight to the Scream Park entrance. The Scream park is one of the first things you see when you enter the theme park making it hard to miss. To our delight there was Sunway Lagoon's version of the Ecto-1 just outside the entrance and some of us had the chance to snap a picture with it.

Ghostbusters Live entrance at night

Inside we were given instructions on what to do and what not to do. Pretty simple really. "Don't touch the ghosts. They will jump out, come near but they wont touch you. Remember, don't touch the ghosts."

Slimer

Our journey started at Slimer's pad, filled with lots of Ghostbusters memorabilia that would surely thrill any fan. So, I would suggest that you watch the movie first to get a full experience though it's not necessary. We then reach the Aldridge Mansion – New York’s oldest private home and museum, where a handsome tour guide introduced us to the story of Gertrude Aldridge.

Getrude Aldridge's Library

No Ghosts

A detour took us to New York Subway’s Seward Street Station and we alighted to visit Old Zhu’s Chinese Restaurant, the new headquarters of the new all-female Ghostbusters. Rowan’s basement was next on the agenda, followed by the infamous Mercado Hotel, set in the iconic Times Square in New York, where our journey ends in a spooky, scary and slimy finale.

Boo!

Rowan's Hideout Basement at the Mercado Hotel

The journey is to be taken in single file so put the bravest of all in front. In our case it was my dear hubby. He seemed pretty cool throughout tho I did here some grown men screaming haha.

I ain't afraid of no ghosts!

Through The Ghostbusters Adventure Live! Sunway Lagoon continues its successful partnership with Lynton V Harris & The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company who are responsible for a long list of popular blockbuster themed attractions previously present inside Scream Park including Terminator, Night at The Museum, Prison Break LIVE! And World War Z.

Harris, Chairman & CEO The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company.

In celebration of this latest introduction, Sunway Lagoon will hosting its first ever ‘Spend and Win’ where Malaysians, aged 18 years or above, will stand a chance to drive away with a brand new Proton Iriz when they spend RM 300 or above in one single receipt.

CocoZ.Kr - Dubbed the Ultimate Korean Hangout Spot in Malaysia

Have you caught the Korean bug yet? If you haven't then know that it will chase you down in some way. From their music to their food to fashion to their serials - Korean things carry a mark of quality and innovation. I mean, how many times have you reached out for some shiny bling and are willing to pay extra because it's made in Korea? There always seems to be a sense of trust.

Now, to add to the Korean fever, Sungai Wang Plaza introduces CocoZ.Kr a brand new Korean lifestyle experience, all the way from Seoul right into the heart of Kuala Lumpur!

CocoZ.Kr is an exciting integrated Korean lifestyle concept outlet that combines food and fashion and is strategically located at the main entrance of Sungei Wang Plaza. The outlet features the first overseas location of the famous Jongno Halmeoni Kalguksu restaurant and serves up its signature handmade knife-cut noodle soup. Perfected through generations and whetting appetites since 1988, the wheat flour noodles are served in a heavenly rich and fragrant seafood broth. CocoZ.Kr also offers bingsu, or a Korean shaved ice dessert, in a variety of flavours for a sweet finish to any meal.

From Top Left Clockwise : The food order counter, the restaurant ambiance, freshly prepared noodles, a closer look at the noodles being prepared

During the launch I joked that bingsu was actually Korean ABC (Air Batu Campur) and I nearly opted out of having it. Luckily I only nearly opted out because although the concept is the same - shaved ice, I have never tried any ice offering nearly as exquisite as the Mango Bingsu that was served to me. It - was - heavenly! The ice was so fluffy and soft. If you could ever label ice as elegant, this was it! I know..such a strange word to describe ice, but for the lack of a better word this is how I interpreted it. Oh, I miss it already!

Aside from satisfying food cravings, CocoZ.Kr is a Korean fashion hub that has brought in the best-selling nail polish appliques of Incoco. If like me you suck at applying nail polish, have no time to wait for nail polish to dry or simply have a sudden event to go to you may consider dressing your nails in Incoco nail polish strips. Incoco nail polish strips have made a name in Korea and internationally, and for the first time, is now available in Malaysia. Made of 100% nail polish, Incoco nail polish strips combine three coatings of the base, colour and top layers into one easy-to-apply self-manicure with professional results. These strips come in over 200 designs and styles, require no dry time, and last up to 14 days.

Clockwise from top left : Easy to apply nail appliques in interesting designs, the nail bar, the accessories section, unique Korean designs

Fashion lovers can complete their look with CocoZ.Kr’s Korean accessories that brings the latest fashion trends from the streets of Hongdae right into Malaysia. CocoZ.Kr accessories are carefully curated in limited numbers to ensure that each look can be uniquely tailored to suit every style and personality. Unfortunately they do not have accessories such  as shoes, hats and belts (asking for clothes is a bit too much for the size of the store so I won't do that).

CocoZ.Kr was officially launched with a fashion show that featured supermodels and former beauty queens showcasing each aspect of CocoZ.Kr, from food to fashion. The fashion show ended on a romantic high with a mock proposal that was received with cheers and well wishes. Among those present to witness the joyous occasion were Umie Aida, the CocoZ.Kr ambassador, Megan Tan, Yvonne Sim and Tuti of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 4 fame my current favourite girl.

Clockwise from top left : Derrick Tan - Chairman of Sungai Wang Group, Ambassadors - Umie Aida & Tuti, Blogger friends E-Wen & Miera, the pretty emcee Nadia

“It is no secret that the world is paying attention and taking a liking to Asian culture, especially in terms of food and fashion. Korean culture is a trend that is still going strong and we are excited to introduce this brand new concept store to Malaysia and further build the hype around all things Korean,” said Derrick Tan, Chairman of Sungei Wang Group.

“I’ve always been interested in Korean culture and fashion, and CocoZ.Kr makes a perfect hangout spot for me between shoots,” said Umie Aida, actress and CocoZ.Kr ambassador. “Incoco Nails Strips, especially, make it so convenient for me to keep my nails in perfect condition even with my busy schedule.”

Accessories, Nail Appliques and food were displayed during the fashion show

During the launch, we had the opportunity to enjoy the full CocoZ.Kr experience and were treated to complimentary manicures using Incoco Nail Appliques. We were presented with a variety of dishes available in the menu including hand pulled noodles and the heavenly bingsu that I cant stop raving about.

Some of the food you can expect at the restaurant. Can you spot the handsome Mango Bingsu? (slurps)

“CocoZ.Kr is the headquarters for the ultimate Korean lifestyle experience but each product has its own brand value and identity,” Derrick said. “Moving forward, we look to expand each brand in various aspects. For example, Incoco nail products are now sold in Kimarie’s Kota Damansara and IOI Puchong branch, allowing their customers to get a complete beauty makeover from head to toe.”

Keeping price value in mind, CocoZ.Kr offers a scrumptious and authentic Korean set meal that includes a choice of drink and a plate of dumplings starting from just RM15.00.

[Fashion] Glitz and Glamour at Starhill Gallery Fashion Week SS16 Launch

On 6 April 2016, Starhill Gallery known for its high end fashion enticed it's exclusive guests with a glamorous launch of it's fashion week that started on 6 April till 9 April 2016.

Guests were treated to G.H Mumm Champagne and Absolut Hibiskus cocktails just because they deserve the best and nothing less. Among the fashionistas present were Diana Danielle, Marsha Milan Londoh, Sazzy Falak, Linora Low, Hunny Madu and Carey Ng.

I arrived early and parked at the convenient and safe Ladies Parking at the Indulge level and found my seat while I waited for my date for the night to arrive in her chauffeur driven car amidst the KL traffic! With the new exit to MEX highway in Seri Kembangan (ok so you kinda know where I live now..no stalking please :P) it takes me maximum 30 mins to reach the Golden Triangle, like door to door. Blessed be!

As soon as she arrived we went into a photo frenzy with selfies and OOTD shots. Yeah people nowdays aren't coy about it anymore..it's very normal. Really. it's not just something kawaii little Japanese girls do anymore. We got our pics printed out at the Wowgram booth once we uploaded it to instagram with the hashtag #shfwss16

Apparently there were handcrafted canapés prepared exclusively for the event by Shook! restaurant’s Executive Chef Richard Sawyer. It must have been damn good as I missed it! I also missed the exquisite chocolate sampling by Armani Dolci, and the complimentary nail service which included a hand massage, manicure and nail art design by BMIC Nail Spa Salon. However I did get to try the complimentary ice-cream by Inside Scoop.

My beautiful date Anne, my OOTD, waiting for the show, starstruck by JC Chee of Ola Bola fame

Any who, the party was hosted by one Emcee, Will Quah who was extraordinarily entertaining. I don't know how much they paid this guy but he was worth every penny. He had the posh crowd bawling over with laughter with his amazingly quick wit and cheeky humour.

Oh, Will Quah you funny man!

The show started with a very sultry dance performance by 3 ladies dressed in red with fire in their eyes and sure strong movements bringing in the Spring Summer heat.

Elnino heat yo!

Then it was time to enjoy the show! The fashion parade showcased Starhill Gallery's exclusive designer labels Debenhams, iKartini, Kenzo, Khoon Hooi, Alexander Mc Queen (I always tend to call Lightning McQueen Alexander McQueen and my son would give me a puzzled look), Mita Tam Style Studio, M Misoni and Valentino.

Each brand had something different to offer from ready to wear daily looks, red carpet looks to updated retro fashion offerings.

Valentino - soft hues and material that created spirituality, sensuality that was subdued, sophisticated  and calm
Valentino

Kenzo - an unexpected mix of elements with bold graphics and a revived retro feel
Kenzo

McQueen by Alexander - versatile pieces in three main colours

McQueen by Alexander

M Missoni - clearly a circus theme. I don't mean that as a joke. Playful and upbeat prints were the name of the game to add fun to Spring / Summer.
M Missoni

Khoon Hooi - Inspired by a life painting of a meadow on black canvas, an abstract take on freedom and light for his collection. Definitely not for the faint hearted,
Khoon Hooi

iKartini - traditional yet contemporary Malaysian traditional fashion
iKartini

Mita Tam Style Studio - light patterns and colourful floral dresses for both casual and formal style
Mita Tam Style Studio

Debenhams - a taste of British style. Cool, comfortable in tones of green and yellow

This year, Starhill Gallery raised the bar even higher by featuring Monique Collignon Couture Light 2016 : The Concious Collection. Collignon, has dressed the like of Guiliana Rancic, Carly Steel, Celinde Schoenmake, Becky Baeling-Lythgo and Carice van Houten. The collection is made entirely of recycled plastic bottles by Waste2Wear. I ignorantly expected to see something that still looked like bottles, but the garments showcased didn't look like they were related to plastic bottles in anyway!

An art installment in Nice, France - Not the Monique Collignon collection

The collection showcased on the runway is also on temporary exhibit at Starhill Gallery. I popped by after the show to checkout the garments up close. Nope. Doesn't look like plastic bottles to me! I was looking at one particular dress, when the sales assistant came and told me that it costs just RM65,000. Hmm...I then politely declined as I don't know what event I will be attending that's worth to wear a RM65,000 dress to....

Monique Collignon Couture Light 2016 : The Concious Collection

Among the weeks line up to note was the Malaysian Designer's show on 8th April 2016 where the likes of Justin Yap, FIZIWOO, and AHNDE showcased their collection.

Vice President of YTL Land & Development Berhad, Hotels & Properties, Joseph Yeoh said "Starhill Gallery epitomises fashion and our portfolio of the best fashion brands is constantly growing. Now in its sixth year of organising the Starhill Gallery Fashion Week, it gives us pleasure by creating a platform for aspiring talents in the fashion industry to be a part of the local and international fashion scenes. We aim to make Kuala Lumpur a fashion hub and to be amongst the top destinations in Asia. We are proud to be able to offer such a variety of choice and deliver an exclusive experience which Starhill Gallery Fashion Week offers.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This glamorous fashion event was in partnership with Armani Dolci, Armani Fiori, BMIC Nail Spa Salon, Buro 24/7, Inside Scoop, JW Mariott Kuala Lumpur, Kloth Lifestyle Sdn. Bhd, Mercedes Benz, Pernod Ricard Malaysia, Sephora Malaysia and YTL Info Screen.

Ning Baizura joins Sweatspa™ to spread message of Health & Beauty through Sweating

With all this El-Nino heat wave going on and schools closing left and right, the last thing on my mind is 'how to sweat' so it really caught me by surprise when this piece of news came up on my desk - "Sweatspa™, reveals actress and singer Ning Baizura as their spokesperson and ambassador"!

Sabrina Tang, Founder of Sweatspa™ welcomes Ning Baizura as their spokesperson and ambassador

Sweatspa™ is a wellness centre utilising medical grade Sunlighten™ Full Spectrum Infrared Therapy to detoxify the body. Through appointing Ning Baizura as their spokesperson, the centre aims to help people gain health and beauty through sweating.

Ning, who is pretty famous in Malaysia for her award winning music, appearance in movies and whom some people think looks like me :p endorsed the centre by saying "Sweatspa™ is the place for me to relax and rejuvenate before I start my day,” she added, “I love Sweatspa™ because I get to sweat out toxins effortlessly. After each session, I feel so revitalized. I could not stop talking about it. So when Sweatspa™ asked me to represent the brand, I was more than delighted to accept the offer because I was already a firm believer of this therapy having seen the difference in my skin, quality of sleep, stamina, and overall health.”

Kak Ning sitting pretty in the Sweatspa™ cabin. To recreate this look make sure you use waterproof makeup ok!!

Yes, I hear  you say that you can very well hit the gym for that same effect but lazy bums ..show of hands please!

So is Sweatspa™ like a sauna? Well, apparently it is totally more than that! Each cabin utilises medical grade Sunlighten™ Full Spectrum Infrared Therapy with emphasis on safety and comfort, to detoxify, relax and rejuvenate the body.

You have probably heard of Infrared Therapy before but Sunlighten™ Full Spectrum Infrared Therapy is in another league by itself. At Sweatspa™ the infrared rays can be controlled for specific treatment.

Infrared Red Ray - Types & Functions

Near Infrared Rays : wound healing and increased immune functions

Mid Infrared Rays :  increasing circulation and promoting muscle relaxation

Far Infrared Rays :  primarily for detoxification

When a customer visits Sweatspa™ they we will be given a body scan; and after each session, a Body Composition Analysis (Inbody) system will read the changes. This way, the customers can track their progress.

Ah if only the weather had the same effect on us as this cabin!

At the moment, the centres open at 10am. If unlike Ning you are unable to wait till 10am to rejuvenate and start your day, you may be happy to know that the Sunlighten™ cabins are available for sale for you to use in the comforts of your own home with two lines available – the Signature series and the mPulse Series. If not, you can still pop by on appointment any time between 10am till 8pm or 9pm depending on the outlet.

Here are some interesting points I got from their website:
In every single session within 30 minutes, you are burning 500 – 600 calories, so you may lose from 0.5kg to 2kg
- It helps ease period cramps
- Suitable for breastfeeding moms!
- Children above 10 are allowed to use the sauna (at home) under strict rules

It is interesting how my initial thoughts of this treatment has changed upon learning more about it and hey! I think I might try it someday.
