ERROR - Don't think about your errors or failures; otherwise, you'll never do a thing - Bill Murray, American Actor and Comedian.

ERROR, that was the theme of this years graduation.

In the words of the College Director, Mr. David Liew "This graduation represents the beginning of a new stage in the lives of our new graduates where they will utilise their versatility and adaptability garnered from their education to meet the demands of new challenges of this millennium as individuals who are ready to compete in the global market."

24th March 2016, The Royale Chulan KL - The Raffles College of Higher Education 35th Graduation saw 25 fashion students showcase their final work in a graduation competition. The participants were judged by some influential names in the fashion industry namely Kittie Yiyi - Fashion Blogger, Fashion Designer and Alumni of Raffles CollegeJoe Chia - Fashion Designer & Director of Joe Chia Clothing also an Alumni of Raffles College and last but not least Mianta Boey – Fashion Buyer at Zalora and Ms. Ginie, manager of student services of Raffles College.

The participants (students) were put through a rigorous judging process that involved a two part criteria, Part A and Part B.

Part A (Pre-Judging)
Story Board, Creatively & Design Interpretation – 20%
Workmanship of Garments – 20%
Commercial Viability – 10%
Hanger Appeal – 10%

Part B (Fashion Show)

Catwalk Presentation – 20%

We thoroughly enjoyed the well choreographed and professional fashion show. The designs paired with the top notch models made it was easy to forget that we were at a college graduation show!

I am excited to present to you the pictures that I have painstakingly put together for your viewing pleasure from this fabulous event. Yes, I have never edited soooo many pictures before for just one post. But absolutely worth it. You may notice that initial shots aren't that great (sorry students and models :D) and I must apologize but they do get better great :p.

And that was all 25 designers! You have your favorites? It was really hard for me to pick my favourite but yes, I do have mine. The show ended with a finale walk followed by the announcement of the top three.

The Winners. From left to right: 2nd Runner Up - Jeffery Goh, 1st place - Yvonne Lee and 1st Runner Up - Esther Tan

After careful evaluation, the three winners were announced. Each winner took home an Ericco Iron and a Zalora voucher worth RM50, RM100 and RM150 respectively.

I would also like to add here that runway looks are not necessary wearable looks unless it is mentioned that it is a RTW (ready to wear) collection. The reason why designers sometimes make weird outfits that you would never imagine wearing is to showcase their ability, exaggerate their ideas and grab attention. It is after all a work of art and a form of expression.

Themodelmom's Choice. Left to Right - Lee Chang Hin, Elaine Ong and  Mary Alison (Do scoll back up to see their full collection)

Priceless Pics with Joe Chia, the talented Tuti and Kittie Yiyi

Themodelmom and fellow bloggers and friends. All colour coordinated without planning!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed the show !

Are there any designs here that you would wear or would like to see your favourite artist in? I'm curious..let me know in the comments below!

[Fashion] Style It Your Way - 3 Decade old YFS Concept Store revamped to a Korean Streetwear Brand

YFS Concept Store offers this and more
Ever heard of YFS Concept Store? Actually, YFS concept store has been around for more than 3 decades with it's first store in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. It has now grown to over 50 outlets nationwide and is one of the leading apparel companies in Malaysia.

Testing my Calligraphy skills

This year, YFS which stands for Young Fabulous and Stylish, revamped its brand to a Korean Streetwear Concept along with a new tagline 'Style It Your Way'.

Well wishes from the many bloggers and media at the event

To launch this new brand identity, YFS which offers competitively priced fashion clothing celebrated their new stand by throwing a blogger and media party in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

With fellow blogger Wendy Pua at the giant Lou Sang

To my advantage, the luncheon was held in IOI City Mall in Putrajaya which is a stones throw away from where I reside, yippee!

Mr. Nicholas Chong, CEO and Co-founder of YFS Concept Store

The CEO and Co-founder, Mr. Nicholas himself was there to greet the bloggers and media. In his short and sweet speech he explained that YFS clothes have a very Asian appeal no matter in style or size. He also added that the Korean fashion you find in YFS stores are versatile and cater to both a male and female clientele.

All the elements of good luck and Mr. Nicholas Chong

It tasted as beautiful as it looks! Thick salmon slices and dragon fruit  was the highlight for me

Mr. Nicholas' speech was followed by an auspicious Lion Dance performance and special appearance by the Monkey King! All media and guests then gathered around for a huge Lou Sang toss that traditionally signifies abundance of luck & happiness for all.

This is what my fortune said. Good reminder.

During the event, we were treated to many interesting activities such as My Wishing Tree corner, Instagram Contest, Makeover session, Photo shoot corner & Gift redemption session. I didn't get to have my makeover tho as I spent all my time picking out my outfit for the Photo Shoot Corner :D

It was indeed tiring but the scrumptious vegetarian lunch by BMS Organic kept me fueled throughout!

Our photos were automatically entered in to the “Style It Your Way Fashion Challenge by YFS”, a
Facebook Contest only opened to the invited guests of the event.

Contest ends on 6 March 2016 so you still can vote!

The Top 10 highest LIKES will receive RM100 worth of products and the winner, will walk away with RM300 worth of products.

Do checkout their Facebook page for all the looks and VOTE FOR ME if you think I am worthy. Please vote :)

What do you think?

YFS Concept Store surprised the invited media by getting us to choose our own Chinese New Year presents. Each guest got to bring home a set of YFS clothing and a pair of Ad Jeans. Ad Jeans is one of YFS Concept Store's priced apparel as they come in various colours, designs and are stretch to fit & flatter all body sizes.

Some of the accessories available at the store

The store really is a one stop centre as it offers bags and accessories as well as a children's line and if you are stumped for choice, you can always ask their sales personnel.

Casual doesn't have to be lazy

According to Mr. Nicholas Chong, YFS Concept Store staff are not only well trained personal shoppers but also fashion lovers who are passionate about style & love looking good. They are capable of providing fashion & styling tips to customers.

They have a variety of funky, fashion bags  for every outfit
